Reservation Value

In a 1913 report, the U.S. government assessed the value of all reservation property. On the Uintah Ouray Reservation, that value was estimated to be $2,589,891.00, the majority in land. Following is the valuation as reported in the Annual Report of the Commissioner of Indian Affairs.

$       29,431.00          Wagons and implements
$     165,232.00         Livestock and other
$     113,918.00          Money in bank

$1,997,791.00          TOTAL   

Property Owned by Tribe:

$   577,225.00          Land
$      34,875.00          Timber

$   612,100.00          TOTAL
